What is a query?
A query is a group of 250 words that will haunt you day and night, until you feel as though your soul has been drained through the very fingertips you used to write said query (and probably rewrite about a thousand times).
What is a Query Faerie?
A Query Faerie is a friend when you feel as though you have no others to turn to for your querying needs. She will take you under her filmy, glittery little wings, put a blanket over those trembling shoulders and hand you a nice, hot mug of I CAN DO THIS!
I get the Query Faerie, but who the heck are you?
My name is Jadah. I am not a publishing insider, but I have critiqued hundreds of queries and written two queries of my own. I know as well as any author that you can never have enough critiques for your query, and good advice can be the difference between a yes and an auto-reject. I currently work as a paralegal in downtown Nashville, TN. I have been writing stories since I could write, and being involved in the publishing industry any way possible has been the only dream I’ve ever had.
What does the Query Faerie do?
The Query Faerie reviews self-published books, books published by small presses, critiques queries, answers questions about queries and writing in general, and an eclectic smattering of other things!
How do I contact the Query Faerie?
You can reach the Query Faerie by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also follow me on Twitter @theQueryFaerie!
And remember, a Query Faerie dies every time someone doesn’t leave a comment, so don’t be shy!
Thanks for reading!
